Acorn Mortgage Services (Essex) Limited are a local Father & Son run, Mortgage and Insurance Brokerage, with over 35 years combined experience in the industry. Acorn was established in 2006 by our director, Mark who was then joined by his Son Connor in 2021.

Mark Smith
My career began in the early 80's working for a local estate agency, progressing into a Branch Manager role. In 1990 I made the move into the financial services industry when I joined Prudential Assurance Company as a local agent in Colchester and the surrounding areas. After several years at the Prudential and missing the estate agency working environment, I joined a local agency as a mortgage advisor in their Colchester High Street office. Subsequently working for a number of other estate agencies and a local mortgage brokerage I made the decision to set Acorn Mortgage Services up in the summer of 2006 to provide honest and reliable mortgage and protection advice to my clients. In October 2021 my son Connor joined Acorn and it's exciting for me to see the future of the business develop.
Connor Smith
My career within the financial services industry started straight from college as a mortgage administrator. Progressing from this role to a paraplanning position I knew that the next big step was to sit my CeMAP exams. Passing the final exam in the summer of 2020 I moved into an advisory role soon after and started to assist clients with their mortgage and insurance needs with the wealth of knowledge that I had gained from the previous positions I held. I joined Dad and Acorn Mortgages in October 2021 and have not looked back since. It's fantastic for me to be helping clients that Dad has been assisting for many years and I look forward to continuing for many years to come!
